King Gimp (Day1)

After almost 24 hours of travel, I finally get to meet “The King and Queen”. We just met at the room of Ryan along with lots of beers and chips.

Meet the King!

Gimp is all about fighting spirit.  But I asked, was he really fighting?  The answer was NO.  He’s not fighting or struggling from his condition.  He’s fighting about humanity.  His condition is as normal like most of us.  He is not a disabled person.

There were so many stories about Dan and Dena. The things that they believe in were all extraordinary.

The first moment we met, they immediately asked “why do this?” We traveled that far at our expense to shoot somebody we don’t even know. Why?

Here’s my answer, I was so amazed about Dan was able to cope up with his condition and become an artist that he wants to be. But who could give love to a person with that “disability”? With that condition, it’s very easy to see that they must love each other very much.

With that belief, I consider this as my “wedding of my lifetime”. All the time, I was looking for a couple who really love each other and they’re using mostly their wits more than their money to celebrate love.

I think I will have so many realization in this wedding. From outside, Dena must love Dan so much that she is willing to take care of Dan in her lifetime. This is my first realization, it’s really Dan who’s taking care of Dena. :)

More to come…

i am deeply touched with what you have done for dan and dena keplinger. but actually, you were right, it was them who have changed you and given you a deeper understanding of life. i also have a 2 y/o son who has cerebral palsy whom we love so much. looking through your photos and watching the videos done by jason magbanua deeply touched me and my husband. every mother’s dream is for his son to find someone like dena who will love him unconditionally. this really brought us to tears, i thought that maybe someday our little angel Miguel, will find that special someone whose life he will touch as much as he has touched our lives. more power.

Hi Rose, with the love you’re giving to Miguel, I’m sure he’ll have a wonderful life. Experiencing unconditional love from you will enable him to love.

Funny, a lot of people we call “normal” didn’t experience unconditional love and also not capable of giving one. :)
